The Dodge Tomahawk 2003 Is The Fastest Non-Rocket Propelled Motorcycle On Earth

The Dodge Tomahawk is the real deal when it comes to speed!

Automotive fans will remember a mind-blowing motorcycle by the name of Tomahawk that made its debut back in 2003. When Dodge introduced this concept a decade ago, we assumed that the bike would never see the light of the day, but it looks like we were wrong.

The Dodge Tomahawk was originally a concept bike built to show off Dodge engineering capabilities but so much interest accumulated over this awesome machine that orders for this bike came in thick and fast. Dodge-Chrysler sold ten of these bikes through Neiman Marcus Ltd, for up to $555,000 each. These bikes cannot be legally driven on public roads, but they can still be driven on private roads.

The Tomahawk has a modified Dodge Viper 8.3 liter V-10 engine with 500 horsepower at disposal, a machine in the true tradition of petrol-head passion.

The Tomahawk can reach 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, and has an estimated top speed of 400 mph, whilst breathing through twin ram jet throttle portals mounted right up front that open as the throttle is twisted in proportion. In practice, it’s hard to imagine anyone willing to prove it.

The Tomahawk has four wheels, each pair is separated by a few inches and each wheel has independent suspension. When cornering both sets of wheels on each hub are still in 100% contact with the ground and the inner wheel will turn slower than the outer for maximum control and grip. Four wheels were necessary to say, Dodge, to handle the power output from the engine.

To see a rider on this bike gives one impression of Marvel Comics action hero Judge Dredd or illusions of the bike in the film ‘Tron’ with Jeff Bridges as the scientist caught up in a futuristic bike racing game.

The rider doesn’t sit on this bike he sort of lies across it, reducing drag and giving better aerodynamic efficiencies. This low drag coefficient would be needed if traveling at 300mph + or the rider would literally be blown off.

The engineering, it has been stated is more reminiscent of fine art or a rolling sculpture and who could disagree. The Dodge has truly surpassed itself in what is truly a phenomenal machine in every way.

Presently, this is the fastest, most powerful bike ever made by man and maybe, in the future, they will attempt to make something even faster!
